Slice of Life: ‘Kids like us are concerned about environmental issues
Every person has a story to share. This column puts the spotlight on the people of Chennai, faces we see but rarely interact with — giving a glimpse into their struggle.
Chennai
In 2017, when I was seven years old, I started my company. My father had seen an advertisement for the company Kidspreneur in a newspaper and enrolled me there. Since I really enjoyed myself there, I decided to continue. My company’s name is Life Seedz. After the 2015 floods, I noticed that a lot of trees had been uprooted and this was posing a big problem. I researched more and found out that seed balls are very effective in solving the issue. Hence, I approached one Mohana who runs Kidspreneur and she helped me start my business. Children like me are worried about climate change and global warming very much. Older people must do something too. If we plant many trees in the city, there will be more rainfall, which will help us to beat the heat and increase the water table, which are common problems during the summer. My friends were surprised when they found out that I am a CEO. It is not easy, but at the same time it is not stressful either. As a CEO, I must know everything about my company. I am studying Class four and I dedicate most of my time to my studies and spend Sundays with Mohana to learn things like pitching, elevator pitches, and all. I got to go to Dubai in April of 2018. It was very nice. Over there, I got to speak to other entrepreneurs, and learnt many new things. For example, someone told me that since Dubai does not have many trees, I can do business with people there. I will be soon holding talks regarding the project.
