Living The Life: ‘Lockdown is hard, but staying busy helps me deal with it’
The ongoing lockdown has forced many of us to alter the way we go about our daily routine. Chennaites share tales of the changes they have made to adapt to the new ‘normal’ of living and working with limited interaction
Chennai
When the shutdown was announced, I had just finished a session. The next day, everything was closed. Even the gyms were closed and everyone was working from home. I usually take my classes in person. But I had to shift to online classes. It’s a little difficult to do so because we need to be careful of what the client is doing to ensure that there are no injuries. That is our number one priority as trainers. So I need to both teach and keep a careful eye out while training. A lot of people are giving importance to fitness and it makes me happy. Not only is it a way to get out the stress from staying indoors all day, it is also a way for people to stick to their goals. It’s difficult, but I love to teach. I got into this when I was in the second year of college. I have been officially training only for a few months, but it’s something I love to do. On days when I’m feeling low and when I don’t have the energy to continue, I motivate myself by telling that I need to do this, and I get up and take classes. The shutdown has been hard on a lot of people, but we just need to stick to our work and deal with it.
