Donating time, resources or money, this unofficial, yet most successful national week of giving is a heartfelt time for millions of Indians, nationally and internationally. Continuing the tradition of celebrating real-life heroes, this year, two children from the city have come together and initiated crowdfunding via Milaap.

Praniti, an 11-year-old playback singer, who has many accolades under her belt will be performing an exclusive live concert to support the children of Vanavil, a tribal school in Nagapattinam.

The fun-filled musical evening will be streamed live on October 3 from 7.30 pm onwards. “Though education is important to every one, there are many reasons why all children do not get education. A lot of people who appreciate my singing skills, ask about my studies. Fortunately, with great support from my parents and my school, I’m getting a good education but not all children are fortunate like me. So keeping this in mind, I’m joining with Milaap to perform a special live concert to support the children of Vanavil, an alternate school in Nagapattinam for children from marginalised communities. Each donation will help the future of 180 children,” shares Praniti.

Ten-year-old baker Vinusha has put on her baking cap to fundraise for the local vendors. She hosted a blondies workshop on October 2. “I’m glad that I got an opportunity to support the local vendors. I’m happy about the responses I got from other children, they get to learn baking blondies and also about the cause I support for,” says Vinusha.
