PDEK is a new treatment, which deals with Iris transplantation. This needs donorship of 25 per cent iris, as against transplanting entire Iris from the donor. The technique is free of stitching and heals immediately. Above all, this procedure doesn’t have allergic or rejection issues — common obstacles faced by the doctors when it comes to Iris transplantation. More than 200 prominent eye surgeons participated in the event. A video conference was conducted to clear doubts from patients.
