These special counters would receive the filled forms, as the city Corporation is all set to revise the property tax rates after 20 years following a direction by the Madras High Court and the subsequent government order.

So far, 6,10,110 forms have been given out to the public and 82,624 forms with the self-assessed property details have been submitted.

The Corporation urged resident welfare associations, families living in government housing units and individual property owners to fill up these forms and submit them before August 31. These special counters – manned by an assessor and an assistant – would be functional on all days.

The public can approach the zonal offices for any changes in the information. The data received from the property owner has been linked to the Electronic Data Processing (EDP) Cell and alerts would be sent to their smartphone. The Corporation encouraged the public to cooperate and help the civic body in this exercise.
