District centres to clear doubts of TNPSC aspirants

At present, candidates are forced to contact the TNPSC head office in Chennai either through phone or email or in person for any information.

“Many candidates hailing from far flung areas find it difficult to get in touch with the head office for clarifying their doubts. Therefore, it has been decided to open at least one counselling centre in every district headquarters,” a senior TNPSC official told DT Next on Tuesday.

Besides clearing the doubts of the candidates, the centres will assist in certificate verification and counselling process. They will also address issues related to hall ticket and question papers.

“All centres will be inter-connected, and the main server will be at TNPSC head office,” he said, adding that all official notifications will be put up for public display at the centres.

The TNPSC official said the centres will have facilities for aspirants to take a print out ofapplication forms.

“The centres will also guide them on how to apply online for examinations since most of the candidates find the process difficult, which results in a delay to distribute hall tickets,” he said.

He said the queries relating to critical information sought by the candidates will be sent to the section concerned immediately through electronic mode. The response would then be conveyed to the candidate.

“In future, the centres will also have a 24X7 helpline to address candidate grievances,” he said.
