Auto drivers delivering ganja at doorstep nabbed in Pallavaram
Two auto drivers who sold ganja to college students were nabbed in Pallavaram. The duo used a code word using which their regular customers could place orders through WhatsApp messenger, and get ganja delivered at their doorstep, police said.

“The accused, Lawrence (30) and Karthik (25) of Old Pallavaram, stored the college students’ number in their phone. If the students send a message ‘Auto needed for pick up’, the duo would go near the respective college and supply ganja to them,” police said.
When they came to know about the duo’s modus operandi, the Pallavaram police decided to lay a trap to nab them. However, the men used to ignore messages received from phone numbers that were not known to them, said police. So the officials sent a message through a college student, who had already purchased ganja from them.
The duo was nabbed when they came to hand over ganja thinking that it was a student who placed the order on phone. They were remanded in judicial custody.
