Man held for forcing minor to watch porn

Tondiarpet all-women police have arrested a 68-year-old man under Pocso Act for allegedly forcing a minor girl to watch porn and trying to sexually assault her. The accused Palayam alias Ravi (68) of Washermenpet is said to be a functionary of a major political party. Recently, parents of a 13-year-old girl informed the child helpline that a man in the neighbourhood forced their daughter to watch porn and tried to misbehave with her. The complaint was forwarded to Tondiarpet all-women police station and the accused was picked up for interrogation. After police found out that the allegations against him were true, he was booked under Pocso Act and was remanded in judicial custody after being produced at George Town court.
