    KITS-SUSE deal to offer Linux, open source training

    The SUSE Academic Programme, the education arm of SUSE India and Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences (KITS), have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate in providing Linux and open source learning and skills to students.

    The programme aims to provide aspiring professionals with essential technical expertise and help them find opportunities in the cloud job market via ‘SUSE Certified Administrator (SCA) in Enterprise Linux’ certificate.


    SUSE will support the programme with cloud-related technologies such as DevOps, cloud application development, cloud administration, and enterprise Linux.


    Commenting on the collaboration, Marco Kraak, vice president, Channel, SUSE EMEA and APJ, said, “As a leader in open source, SUSE understands the changing dynamics of the IT industry. Through the SUSE Academic Programme, we help meet the demands of the digital economy by providing open source knowledge and training materials for students.”


    As part of the programme, SUSE will provide staff and students access to technical training course library, curriculum, virtual labs and educational resources. SUSE will also support UG and PG courses in Computer Science and Engineering offered by KITS.


    Highlighting the collaboration, Karunya Institute of Science and Technology vice chancellor P Mannar Jawahar, said, “The education system needs transformation to be on par with the current trends. The availability of job-ready graduates will fill the gap inthe IT industry.”
