2 college students run over by bus, 1 critical
Two college students died when a bus ran over them after they fell off the two-wheeler they were travelling on near Oragadam on Friday. Another student, who was riding with them, suffered injuries, and has been admitted to a hospital.

The trio was returning after taking part in the Pongal celebration at the private polytechnic college in Oragadam where they studied, police said.
The deceased were identified as Rahmatullah (19), third-year Mechanical engineering student, and Angeline Rose (18), third-year Computer Science student. Arshidha, a first-year Mechanical Engineering student was injured in the accident.
According to the police, the teenagers were returning on the same scooter after Pongal celebration. When they were coming down on Oragadam flyover, Rahmatullah, who was riding the bike, tried to overtake a minivan.
But the two-wheeler skidded and the trio fell on the road. Rahmatullah and Angeline fell on the right side, and was run over by an STC bus that was coming from Kancheepuram. Arshidha escaped with injuries as she fell on the other side.
The other students who witnessedthe accident chased and intercepted thebus near Padappai. Meanwhile, the Oragadam police, who reached thespot, rushed Arshidha to Sriperumbudur government hospital and sent the bodies for post-mortem examination.
The police have registered a case and detained the bus driver for further inquiry.
