In a bid to ensure that all children below five years are administered with polio drops, the GCC has decided to set up as many as 1,645 polio vaccination camps across the city. The officials have estimated that there are around 7.03 lakh children in the city to provide the vaccine. A statement from the civic body had requested the parents to bring their children to the camps organised at Corporation hospitals, government hospitals, schools, dispensaries, anganwadi centres, private hospitals, railway stations and bus stands. The camps will be held from 7 am to 5 pm and the authority will deploy around 7,000 employees to conduct the polio campaign. Of the total camps, 42 camps will be mobile camps at which the children who are on travel will be vaccinated.
