Kindness week in city aims to bring thoughtfulness into daily life
A lot of times, many of us forget how a simple act of kindness can go a long way in making a difference in someone’s life.
Chennai
As a way of weaving in thoughtfulness into daily life, The Kindness Week has been working with schools and celebrities for the past three years. Through its ongoing third edition of The Kindness Week, the organisers hope to reach out to more people.
This year’s theme ‘Let joy grow’ depicts the initiative’s expansion and its belief that kindness can be inculcated as a habit, the organisers say in a statement. “We have been growing each year, and we are excited about being able to touch more lives with our 2020 edition. We are also taking the initiative pan-national for the first time and look forward to expanding to more cities in future,” says the initiative’s founder Mahima Poddar, in the statement.
Besides Chennai, The Kindness Week, an event by The Kindness Project, will also be marked in Hyderabad and Pune till February 15. Among the activities to be held as part of the initiative include, combining fun and learning for students and having an animal-assisted therapist, with a therapy dog present at a paediatric ward at a hospital. Through The Kindness Project, one can also gift memorable outings to children who cannot afford them.
