‘Trinity of Carnatic music’ honoured at National music fest
To pay reverential homage to Sri Mutthuswami Dikshitar, Sri Syama Sastrigal and Sri Thyagaraja Swamigal, considered as the ‘Trinity of Carnatic Music’, Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Viswa Maha Vidyalaya (SCSVMV) at Enathur, Kancheepuram, conducted the second edition of National level trinity music festival on their premises.

The three-day event was organised by Department of Sanskrit and Indian Culture and Fin Arts Association of SCSVMV that concluded recently. The inaugural session was presided over the vice chancellorProf SV Raghavan.
Senthil Kumar IAS, Commissioner of Kosi division, Bihar inaugurated the festival and elaborated on the significance of the music and applauded the effort. Fine Arts Association coordinator prof K Venkataramanan welcomed the gathering. Department of Sanskrit HOD G Sankaranarayanan explained the significance of the festival and the felicitation was conducted by prof Ramakrishna felicitated the function.
The first day of the event was dedicated to Sri Mutthuswami Dikshitar while the second day celebrations was offered to Sri Syama Sastrigal. Maharajapuram Srinivasan Andganesh, descendants of Maharajapuram santhanam, gave a lecture demonstration on Sri Syama Sastri . Sri Thyagaraja swamigal was veneratedon the third day.
More than 1,000 students and public attended the three-day event.
