Chennai
Abi Saravanan is keeping himself busy this lockdown by stepping out of his home and helping people in need. The Pattathaari actor in his hometown Madurai has provided basic amenities for over 700 Sri Lankan refugees at a camp in the city. “Along with my brother and dad, we have been providing them groceries and food. Apart from that, there are another 500 families to which we have provided food that we make in our home,” he told DT Next. He revealed that he spends his remuneration towards noble causes. “I haven’t taken any pay cut for the films I have signed. My production houses were generous enough to pay me the salary I ask for. And I use it to help people and spend it on charitable causes. That is why I could step up for 1,300 families till date.”
Abi, will be next seen in a film in which he is paired with Oviya. “The untitled film will be directed by Ranjith, who had previously directed Sambavam. It is a romcom that will have an unexpected twist in the climax. We would shoot for the film later this year. Apart from this, I also have Sasikumar’s Kombu Vecha Singamda directed by SR Prabhakaran. Sasi and I have joined hands yet again post Kutti Puli and my character graph in the film is something I can’t wait to watch on the big screen myself. Apart from these, I have also signed a film that will be produced by veteran director SA Chandrasekhar,” he told us. On a concluding note, he said that he will also make his debut in Malayalam. “Post lockdown it is certainly a hectic schedule. I wish I sign more films and help more people,” he added.
