406 Indians arrive by4 spl flights
As many as 406 Indians arrived from Germany, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and Oman at the airport here on Thursday night.

The first flight arrived from German with 56 Indians via Mumbai and Hyderabad. After completing the COVID-19 test and the Customs and Immigration checks, all the passengers were taken for quarantine. Sources said only one passenger opted for the government facility for a free stay and the rest were taken to hotels in the city.
The next flight to arrive was one from Malaysia, which had 144 Indians on board. Sources said among them 40 passengers had been staying in Malaysia even after their visa got expired and had gone to that country on a tourist visa. All the 40 of them, after completing all the checkup, were taken to a private women’s college in Chromepet for quarantine. They will be enquired by the police after the quarantine period. Rest of the 104 passengers were taken for quarantine to various hotels in Chennai.
Later, a special flight from Oman arrived with 178 Indians, including 12 children. After completing the required formalities and COVID test, all of them were taken for quarantine. While 128 passengers preferred the free stay, rest of them were taken to various hotels.
On Friday morning, a special flight from Sri Lanka arrived at the Chennai airport with 28 Indians. After completing all the routine checks, they were taken for quarantine. Fifteen of the passengers opted for the free stay while 13 of them decided to stay in hotels.
