Since the college was closed due to lockdown, Rajasekar is said to have been depressed over not being able to return to Andaman. On Sunday afternoon, Rajasekar called his friend Aravindhan and asked him to bring lunch for him.
However, when Aravindhan reached the house, he found the house locked from inside. After the phone calls went unanswered, the door was broken open and Rajasekar was found lying unconscious in the bed. Though he was rushed to a nearby hospital, he was declared ‘brought dead’. On information, Guduvanchery police retrieved his body and sent it to Chengalpattu government hospital.
Rajasekar’s father Subramani has been informed of Rajasekar’s death. A case of suspicious death has been registered and further investigation is on.
