As speculations ran high, Ku Ka Selvam denies joining BJP

The Thousand lights DMK MLA Ku.Ka Selvam has categorically denied joining BJP, he said to the press that he was in talks with JP Nadda on the affairs of his constituency.

It was rumoured that not getting the DMK Chennai west district secretary had prompted Selvam quit the party.

That party position that fell vacant was earlier held by J Anbazhagan who passed away recently due to coronavirus infection, it was filled by Chitrarasu of the youth wing.

Notwithstanding, Selvam does have some displeasure with the DMK leadership. He wanted the party to step out of the Congress coalition and wanted Stalin to condemn those who've used profanity against lord Murugan.

This slight friction may have been blown out of proportion.

He fought under the DMK ticket in 2016 unseated the incumbent AIADMK MLA of Thousand Lights B Valarmathi by 8,829. He quit AIADMK in 1997 and joined the DMK.
