Special Sub-Inspector in city dies of COVID
A Special Sub Inspector (SSI) succumbed to the infection at a private hospital in Chennai on Thursday.

The deceased official, Pandi Muni, was attached to the Kundrathur police station.
He was admitted to a private hospital in the city but died without responding to treatment on Thursday morning.
According to statistics from Indian Police Foundation, the Tamil Nadu police ranks third in the list of police departments with the most number of COVID cases after Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh.
While TN has 3,000 cases in total, the Maharashtra police department has more than 9,000 personnel who have tested positive.
So far, as many as 228 police personnel have died across the country due to the pandemic and 107 of them are from Maharashtra, showed the data from Indian Police Foundation.
