Independence day rehearsal in Chennai takes place with social distancing norms

Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the second rehearsal of the Independence day ceremony took place in Chennai on Monday, following social distancing norms.

The vehicles were diverted from Kamarajar Salai, Rajaji Salai and Flag Staff Salai in Chennai.

The Tamil Nadu Police, the Traffic Police and the Fire Department participated in the rehearsal.

Earlier, it was reported that on behalf of the TN government the Independence day celebrations will be held in Chennai Secretariat on August 15 and transports will be diverted from certain roads.

Following this, the Tamil Nadu Police announced that the Independence day parade rehearsals will be held on August 8, 10 and 13.

The third rehearsal is scheduled to take place on August 13.
