14 kg ganja seized from 12 in city

Washermenpet police received the contact number of a ganja supplying network and contacted them posing as buyers. The suppliers were asked to come near Moolakothalam, even as cyber cell tracked the phone number. Two college students, Edwin Robert and Ajith Kumar, who came there were arrested. They disclosed the involvement of Sathish Kumar and Sasikala, wife of ganja peddler Poonjolai of Avadi. Police seized 3 kg ganja, four mobile phones, two bikes and Rs 1.11 lakh. Similarly, Pallikaranai police arrested seven persons and seized 11 kg ganja from them. The accused were remanded in custody on Tuesday.
