Duo burgles 40 sovereigns, arrested

The arrested were identified as Kamalakannan (60) and Kumar (44) of Sholinganalur. Police said the victim Indu (38) was staying alone the past few months. Indu was on night duty and when she returned, the front door of her house was broken open and 40 sovereigns of her jewellery and Rs 75,000 were missing. The Pallikaranai police identified duo roaming on a two-wheeler and arrested them. They also seized the valuables along with the two-wheeler from them.
