The deceased was identified as Sukanya, 28, wife of Sathish C, who runs a two-wheeler water-wash service. Sathish, 35, and his father Chandra Mohan, 69, are hospitalised with stab injuries while Sukanya died immediately after she was taken to KMC on Saturday night. She was a mother of two.
All the three were attacked by Narayanan P, a painter who had been staying on rent on the first floor of the house belonging to the victim for the last 20 years.
According to the police, the problem started when Sathish asked for rent from Narayanan.

After attacking them, he walked out into the street and based on information from the hospital, police nabbed him at around 11 pm.
