Thunderstorms with light to moderate rain are likely in some areas. Maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 33ºC and 25ºC respectively,” said N Puviarasan, director, Regional Meteorological Centre.
According to the Regional Meteorological Centre, the cyclonic circulation over the Gulf of Mannar and adjoining Sri Lanka now lies over Comorin area and neighbourhood extending up to 0.9 km above mean sea level (AMSL).
Heavy rain will occur at districts like Kanniyakumari, Tirunelveli, Tenkasi, Thoothukudi, Ramanathapuram, Virudhunagar, Tirupur and Dindigul on Friday, and Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Cuddalore, hill ranges of Theni and The Nilgiris districts on Saturday.
“We got decent rains in the last two days and we will have early morning rains. Daytime will be sunny as usual and don’t expect day-time rains unless there is low pressure or a cyclone nearby. The peak time for our rains will always be in late nights to early mornings, most of the time,” said Pradeep John, a weather blogger who runs the page Tamil Nadu Weatherman.
