Woman fights bike-borne snatchers, footage goes viral

The incident happened at JB Estate on Saturday evening when the victim S Priya (31) was walking home from a nearby shop. Two men on a bike who followed her tried to snatch her chain, but an alert Priya acted swiftly and held on to the chain.

In the CCTV footage, an unrelenting pillion-rider could be seen getting down from the bike to grab the chain. However, a neighbour rushes to help and the snatcher pushes Priya to the ground and hops onto the moving bike. Avadi police have launched a hunt for the suspects.

Meanwhile, a bike-borne duo attacked and robbed three persons after attacking them with weapons in the zero hours of Sunday.

Raj (25) and Manoj (25) of Vyasarpadi were returning home after work when a bike-borne duo attacked them with a knife and escaped with a mobile phone and Rs 6,000. Similarly, in Erukkancheri, Suman (18), who works in an eatery, was walking home with a friend when two men on a bike stopped them at around 1 am and robbed him of Rs 500.
