A day after inquiring Rajiv Dubey and his wife Madhu, police arrested the former under Sections 29b, delivering arms to another person without ascertaining that the person is entitled to hold the weapon, and 30, contravening any condition of a licence, of Arms Act.
Though Rajiv alleged that he misplaced the pistol in the car when he sold the vehicle to Kailash last year, police said he did not have a proper response as to why he let Kailash keep the pistol for several months.
Police suspect that Rajiv could have given the pistol to Kailash to threaten the in-laws of his sister Jayamala for better compensation to end her marriage with Sheetal Kumar. However, Kailash might have fired at Sheetal Kumar and his father Dali Chand and mother Pushpa Bhai in a fit of rage when he reached their house along with Jayamala and his other brother Vilas.
While police have arrested all six suspects in the murder case and seized two cars and pistols from them, Jayamala, Vilas and Raju Shinde, who have been remanded, will be taken into custody for interrogation. The other three accused, Kailash, Ravindranath Gar and Vijay Uttam Kamal, who have already been taken into custody, are expected to be produced before a magistrate in a day or two.
