CM opens video-conferencing facility to probe juvenile cases

“To complete the investigation of juvenile cases at the earliest, video conferencing mechanism had been inaugurated in 23 districts at a cost of Rs 2.6 crore for the benefit of JJBs. Juveniles in six borstal homes will be investigated through video conferencing by JJBs in 23 districts,” said Chief Minister, after inaugurating the facility.

Tamil Nadu had already linked borstal homes with JJBs in eight districts and juvenile cases in the eight districts are investigated through video conferencing. The announcement to connect the JJBs in the remaining districts was announced by the CM on July 11 last year, and as announced, juveniles in six borstal homes of Madurai, Tiruchirappalli, Coimbatore, Salem, Thanjavur and Cuddalore will be connected with JJBs in 23 districts through video conferencing.

MoU with SIDBI: To develop the MSME sector, the State government signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the SIDBI, in the presence of Chief Minister. The agreement will allow MSMEs to avail loans from SIDBI under skill development fund scheme.
