This new company brings together different facets of theatre

Started by a seasoned performer Zubin Vincent, it is a space designed for theatre to thrive by embracing the challenges the art form faces, a global pandemic for instance.

“RumourMill is a direct product of the world that 2020 built. A year that made distance the new normal also made human connection across timezones, screens, disciplines essential. It is this connection that RumourMill seeks to provide by bringing together several facets of good theatre. RumourMill will support its artistson and off stage by tapping into various resources,” Belinda Peter, the managing director of the company tells us.

RumourMill was Zubin’s idea and it also is a way for him to give back to the city where he fell in love with theatre.

By intentionally focussing on providing artists a supportive setting and a rewarding experience RumourMill plans to put on performances that spark a lasting connection with the community.

“We wanted to create a company that handles each part of the page to stage process with professionalism and care. We also want to create a community for theatre lovers across the city. Zubin Vincent has professional experience with each part of the page-to-stage process. He is trained at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and has been working on and around the stage for over a decade. He has had firsthand experience with both good and not-so good aspects of a production,” she concludes.

Their upcoming event is on December 5; a monologue writing workshop.
