    CHENNAI: Minister Duraimurugan also informed the House that an artificial intelligence (AI) and satellite-based app to monitor encroachment of waterbodies in Chennai and surroundings would be developed at a cost of Rs 5.50 crore. The project is being taken up to trace the original size of the waterbodies and restore their storage through continuous monitoring and prevention of encroachments. Stating that managing Chennai’s water requirement was difficult due to climate change-induced floods and drought, Duraimurugan said that experts would prepare a detailed project report at a cost of Rs 5.12 crore.
