33-year-old misbehaves with stepdaughter in Perumbakkam, held
The police who registered a case on Tuesday arrested the man under Pocso Act and he was remanded in judicial custody and sent to prison.
CHENNAI: Police arrested a 33-year-old man who misbehaved with his stepdaughter in Perumbakkam on Monday.
Victim's mother, a resident of the Perumbakkam slum clearance board, was working as a maid. Police said she was separated from her husband and was living with her 33 -year-old lover, a construction worker from Uttar Pradesh, and the couple was staying together for the past three years.
On Monday, when the woman went to work, Mahesh and his 7-year-old stepdaughter were alone at home. Police said in the evening that the woman who returned home found her daughter crying with blood stains on her private part. Soon, she took the daughter to a private hospital in Kelambakkam.
Based on the information from the hospital the Selaiyur all-women police team who visited the spot held inquiries with the girl and found that the man had misbehaved with the girl and escaped from the house before her mother arrived in the evening.
