    CHENNAI: Police are probing the death of a 28-year-old software engineer, who is suspected to have fallen off the seventh floor of his apartment complex in Navalur off Rajiv Gandhi Salai (OMR) during the early hours of Sunday.

    The deceased has been identified as Pranesh, a native of Coimbatore. Police investigations revealed that Pranesh was working in an IT firm in Siruseri near Chennai.

    Pranesh was living with his mother in the apartment. A few weeks ago, Pranesh’s mother had left to Oman to be with his sister, who is living there after which Pranesh was staying alone.

    The security guard of the apartment complex heard a loud thud and found Pranesh lying face down on the floor and alerted the association members in the apartment.

    Kelambakkam police rushed to the scene on information and secured Pranesh. He was moved to a hospital where he was declared brought dead after which police moved his body to a government hospital for autopsy and alerted the family members.

    Investigations are underway to ascertain if Pranesh slipped from the balcony or committed suicide, police said.
