Covid scare: Corpn makes masks mandatory in Chennai again

CHENNAI: As fresh Covid cases in the city are increasing, the Greater Chennai Corporation has requested the citizens to compulsorily wear face masks in public places.
A Chennai Corporation press release said that the new cases came down a few months ago, but a slight rise is witnessed for the two days. "Also, festival season is nearing. Residents should wear face masks in public places and maintain social distancing. They should also take vaccine. Residents with symptoms should not take self medication and should visit doctors, " the release said.

An official said that flu cases are increasing in the city and the people are getting checked for the virus out of fear. "As the testing increased, cases are also increasing," he added.
