Man wanted by Hyd police in dowry case detained at city airport
A 49-year-old man, whom the Hyderabad police were hunting for in connection with the dowry case, was detained when he reached the Chennai airport to leave for abroad on Wednesday.
CHENNAI: A 49-year-old man, whom the Hyderabad police were hunting for in connection with the dowry case, was detained when he reached the Chennai airport to leave for abroad on Wednesday.
As they were checking the travel documents of the passengers who were about to board the flight to Singapore at 4.30 am, the immigration officials found that there was a lookout notice issued by the Hyderabad police for one of them, Srinivas of Telangana, in connection with a dowry case booked in 2021.
The officials then detained Srinivas and cancelled his trip, and informed the Hyderabad police. Later, he was taken to the airport police station. A special team from Hyderabad would arrive in Chennai to arrest Srinivas.
