Udhayanidhi has duty to protect youth wing history: Stalin
Chief Minister Stalin said, "A campaign is being run deliberately using new media to somehow destroy us. You must not forget that only you can defeat it."
CHENNAI: Chief Minister M K Stalin on Saturday said that a campaign is being deliberately run to destroy the DMK using the new media.
Speaking at the launch of Murasoli Pasarai and DMK youth wing app organised by the party's youth wing headed by State Sports Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, Chief Minister Stalin said, "A campaign is being run deliberately using new media to somehow destroy us. You must not forget that only you can defeat it."
In an hour-long pep talk, which was fraught with his recap of his formative years as DMK youth wing secretary and the shifting of youth wing office to Anbagam, Stalin quoted Udhayanidhi as saying that he has not invited the CM even once for a DMK youth wing even in the three years since he took over as its secretary, and said, "Why didn't you invite? I don't understand. I would like to think that he had avoided inviting me owing to the position I hold and to avoid disturbing me," he added.
"But, I am watching him daily. Watching on television, newspaper and media. Both good and sarcastic news appear on social media. I am also watching that. Actually, we are monitoring him from the headquarters," Stalin added.
Recalling Anna's famous quote, "What good would be this life if I cannot participate in the event naming the state as Tamil Nadu," Stalin, in a veiled dig at the governor, said, "Today, someone is bluffing that the state should not be called Tamil Nadu. Anyway, let us not give him any more publicity. I am saying that because it is history."
