‘It’s Simba and Rafiki’, calls out internet after baboon ‘grooms’ lion cub

It was a ‘Lion King’ moment in real life after an amateur photographer captured the unusual sight of a male baboon grooming a lion cub. Kurt Schultz, capturing the viral video in the Kruger national park in South Africa, mentions how he himself was surprised to witness the seeming intimacy between the animals when baboons are otherwise known to normally hunt lion cubs. The clip had the internet immediately joyously comparing the two animals to The Lion King’s Simba and baboon Rafiki. Others, however, weren’t fully convinced and expressed concern over the cub’s safety. Some even cast doubts if the baboon was only cleaning his food for dinner.
