After maintaining consistency in pleasing the audience and critics alike over a decade, National-award winning filmmaker Vetri Maaran is venturing into OTT with Paava Kadhaigal anthology in Netflix. He has made Oor Iravu in this slew of movies.

Oor Iravu's teaser was released today by the OTT platform.
Vetri joins other remarkable directors like Gautham Vasudev Menon, Sudha Kongara and Vignesh Shivan for the anthology. The films explore how love, pride and honour influence complex human relationships through four intense and beautiful stories.
Oor Iravu is the story about Sumati (Sai Pallavi), an estranged girl who is pregnant and tries to patch up with her father. What happens in the due course of her baby-shower is the story's resolution.
Throughout the teaser, Prakash Raj, who plays the father, seems to be welcoming of his daughter's return yet remains nonchalant with something sinistral brewing within.
Speaking about the film, director Vetri Maaran said, "While it is essentially a story about a father and daughter, the concept of the film kept evolving along the way. My subconscious thought was to have a microscopic view on the pain that is inflicted by family members on one another for the sake of honor. Oor Iravu will make people think about certain practices that sadly still continue to exist in our society. It is both heart-touching and wrenching at the same time.”
The anthology is produced by Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP Movies and Ashi Dua Sara’s Flying Unicorn Entertainment, and will release on Netflix across 190 countries.
Paava kadhaigal begins streaming on Netflix from 18th December.
