PM unable to look into my eyes: Rahul Gandhi
He launched a direct attack on the Defence Minister saying that she ‘lied’ to the nation about the Rafale deal with France.
Chennai
During the debate ahead of the no-trust vote, Congress President Rahul Gandhi, who led Congress’ charge against the central government, demanded explanation from the PM on various issues like Rafale deal and even accused the Defence Minister Nirmala Sitaraman of ‘lying’ to the nation about the deal.
The direct attack against the Union Defence Minister, rattled the assembly and Nirmala Sitharaman stood up from her seat and protested the charges levelled by Rahul.
However, Rahul Gandhi alleged that the France Prime Minister denied having any such pacts on Rafale deal when he personally met the former.
The Congress president also said, “PM doesn't care about small businessmen, he cares only about 10-20 'suited and booted' big businessmen”. He made a direct attack on the Prime Minister, saying that the entire country is the victim of a 'jumla strike', especially farmers, Dalits, youth, and tribal women. Saying that the PM was not able to look into his eyes, the Congress party chief mentioned the promises of Rs 15 lakh in bank accounts and the Rs 2 crore jobs for youths.
The no-trust motion in Parliament that was proposed by TDP was accepted by Speaker Sumitra Mahajan on the very first day of the Parliament's winter session. This comes as the first no-trust motion in 15 years and it does not pose a threat to BJP as it enjoys a comfortable majority.
