Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday said the number of coronavirus cases might increase in the capital in the coming two-three days.

As of now, there are 445 cases in Delhi.

Citing the reason behind increase in the number of patients Kejriwal said, "A total of 2,300 people were evacuated from the Nizamuddin Markaz. Of these, 500 had symptoms of coronavirus. Some had cough while some had fever and other symptoms. Since all of them were admitted to the hospitals and have been tested while reports are expected in two-three days, therefore, we can expect surge in the number of positive cases in the capital."

He said the coronavirus cases in Delhi are increasing because of Markaz only but still community transmission has not started here.

1,800 people of Markaz have been quarantined and are been screened. All these will be kept under medical supervision for the next 14 days.

Chief Minister said, "Delhi had to suffer because of coronavirus infected people who came from abroad and people of Markaz."
