Rs 1,132 cr for Kovai airport expansion
The state has sanctioned a Rs 1,132 crore towards payment of compensation to the landowners for acquisition of the Coimbatore airport runway extension.

According to the transport department order, the Coimbatore District Collector has requested the government to release the balance amount so as to settle the compensation amount to the landowners. The state had initially sanctioned a sum of Rs 308.46 crore for the compensation as against the total of Rs 1,634.40 crore.
