CHENNAI: The price of gold in Chennai has increased by Rs 480 per sovereign on Saturday (December 21), and the yellow metal is being sold at Rs 56,800 per sovereign.
Accordingly, gold price per gram has increased by Rs 60 with a gram now costing Rs 7,100.
Over the past week, gold price has shown slight variations. On December 20, the price of gold was at Rs 56,320, down from Rs 56,560 on December 19.
The price had previously stood at Rs 57,120 on both December 15 and 16.
Silver price has increased by Re 1 and is being sold at Rs 99 per gram.
