20-year-old nurse kidnapped in Chennai by relative, held near Tindivanam
On Saturday morning, Jamuna was walking towards the hospital and at that time a car followed her and four men who got out of the vehicle kidnapped her.
CHENNAI: A 22-year-old woman who was kidnapped by a group of men in Acharapakkam was rescued by the police within a two hours on Saturday.
The victim Jamuna of Chennai, was working in a private hospital in Velachery. On Saturday morning, Jamuna was walking towards the hospital and at that time a car followed her and four men who got out of the vehicle kidnapped her.
Police said when the car was nearing the Achurapakkam toll booth Jamuna started to scream for help. The toll plaza staff, who noticed a young girl being kidnapped, alerted the Acharapakkam police station.
Soon the police team who rushed to the spot went for a chase and they managed to intercept the vehicle on the Chennai-Trichy National Highway.
The police rescued Jamuna and arrested the four men who kidnapped her. During the inquiry, the police found that Jamuna was in a relationship with Sabapathi (27) and six months back Jamuna stopped talking with Sabapathi.
Since Jamuna kept on avoiding, Sabapathi decided to kidnap her with the help of his friends Hariharan (20), Ajay (25), and Rajesh (39).
Since the kidnapping was held in Velachery, the police handed over all of them to Velachery police and the police have registered a case and further inquiry is on.
