CHENNAI: Southern Railway on Monday announced significant changes to the pattern of train services due to the remodelling of the Tambaram Yard for engineering and signalling upgrades in the Chennai Division.
This includes the implementation of non-interlocked working of trains from July 23 to August 18.
Consequently, numerous train services will experience full cancellations, diversions, and partial cancellations during this period.
Full Cancellation of Train Services:
1.Train No. 20691 Tambaram – Nagercoil Antyodaya Superfast Express will be fully cancelled on July 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, and 31.
2. Train No. 20692 Nagercoil – Tambaram Antyodaya Superfast Express will be fully cancelled on July 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, and 31.
Diversion of Train Services:
1. Train No. 22632 Bikaner – Madurai Superfast Weekly Express, scheduled to leave Bikaner at 15.00 hrs on July 21, will be diverted via Perambur, Arakkonam, and Chengalpattu, skipping stoppages at Chennai Egmore and Tambaram.
An additional stoppage will be provided at Perambur (09.15 Arr/09.20 Dep) for passenger convenience.
2. Train No. 22153 Chennai Egmore – Salem Superfast Express, scheduled to leave Chennai Egmore at 23.55 hrs on July 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, and 31, will be diverted to run via Chennai Beach, Arakkonam, Chengalpattu, and Villupuram.
3. Train No. 22403 Puducherry – New Delhi Weekly Express, scheduled to leave Puducherry at 09.55 hrs on July 24 and 31, will be diverted via Chengalpattu, Arakkonam, Perambur, and Gudur, skipping stoppages at Chennai Egmore. An additional stoppage will be provided at Perambur (13.35 Dep) for passenger convenience.
4. Train No. 22535 Rameswaram – Banaras Weekly Superfast Express, scheduled to leave Rameswaram at 23.55 hrs on July 24 and 31, will be diverted via Chengalpattu, Arakkonam, Perambur, and Gudur, skipping stoppages at Chennai Egmore. An additional stoppage will be provided at Perambur (13.35 Dep) for passenger convenience.
5. Train No. 20482 Tiruchchirappalli – Bhagat Ki Kothi Humsafar Weekly Express, scheduled to leave Tiruchchirappalli at 08.10 hrs on July 27, will be diverted via Chengalpattu, Arakkonam, Perambur, and Gudur, skipping stoppages at Chennai Egmore. An additional stoppage will be provided at Perambur (13.35 Dep) for passenger convenience.
6. Train No. 11017 Lokmanya Tilak – Karaikal Weekly Express, scheduled to leave Lokmanya Tilak at 13.15 hrs on July 27, will be diverted via Tiruttani, Melpakkam Cabin, and Chengalpattu. An additional stoppage will be provided at Tiruttani (09.05 Arr/09.10 Dep) for passenger convenience.
7. Train No. 22613 Rameswaram – Ayodhya Cantt Shraddha Sethu Superfast Express, scheduled to leave Mandapam at 00.30 hrs on July 28, will be diverted via Chengalpattu, Arakkonam, Perambur, and Gudur, skipping stoppages at Chennai Egmore. An additional stoppage will be provided at Perambur (13.35 Dep) for passenger convenience.
Short Termination/Origination of Train Services:
1. Train No. 12635 Chennai Egmore – Madurai Vaigai Express, scheduled to leave Chengalpattu at 14.50 hrs on July 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, and 31, will be partially cancelled between Chennai Egmore and Chengalpattu.
2. Train No. 12653 Chennai Egmore – Tiruchchirappalli Rockfort Express, scheduled to leave Chennai Egmore at 23.35 hrs on July 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, and 31, will originate from Chengalpattu at 00.40 hrs on July 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, and August 1.
3. Train No. 15929 Tambaram – New Tinsukia Express, scheduled to leave Tambaram at 18.35 hrs on July 25, will commence service from Chennai Egmore at 19.15 hrs.
4. Train No. 12760 Hyderabad – Tambaram Superfast Express, scheduled to leave Hyderabad on July 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, and 31, will be short-
terminated at Chennai Beach.
5. Train No. 12759 Tambaram – Hyderabad Charminar Express, scheduled to leave Tambaram at 17.30 hrs on July 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, and 31, will commence service from Chennai Beach at 18.20 hrs.
6. Train No. 20684 Sengottai – Tambaram Express, scheduled to leave Sengottai at 16.15 hrs on July 22, 24, 27, 26, 29, and 31, will be short-terminated at Villupuram. The train will be partially cancelled between Villupuram and Tambaram.
7. Train No. 20683 Tambaram – Sengottai Express, scheduled to leave Tambaram at 21.00 hrs on July 24, 25, 28, and 30, will originate from Villupuram at 23.15 hrs. The train will be partially cancelled between Tambaram and Villupuram.
8. Train No. 12376 Jasidih – Tambaram Superfast Express, scheduled to leave Jasidih at 13.10 hrs on July 24 and 31, will be short-terminated at Chennai Egmore. The train will be partially cancelled between Chennai Egmore and Tambaram.
9. Train No. 12375 Tambaram – Jasidih Superfast Express, scheduled to leave Tambaram at 13.00 hrs on July 27, will originate from Chennai Egmore at 13.35 hrs. The train will be partially cancelled between Tambaram and Chennai Egmore.
10. Train No. 12606 Karaikkudi – Chennai Egmore Pallavan Superfast Express, scheduled to leave Karaikkudi at 05.35 hrs on July 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, and 31, will be short-terminated at Chengalpattu. The train will be partially cancelled between Chengalpattu and Chennai Egmore.
11. Train No. 22657 Tambaram – Nagercoil Superfast Express, scheduled to leave Tambaram at 19.30 hrs on July 24, 28, 29, and 31, will commence service from Chennai Egmore at 19.00 hrs.
12. Train No. 22658 Nagercoil – Tambaram Superfast Express, scheduled to leave Nagercoil at 16.30 hrs on July 22, 23, 25, 29, and 30, will terminate at Chennai Egmore (04.35 Arrival) instead of Tambaram.
13. Train No. 16160 Mangaluru Central – Chennai Egmore Express, scheduled to leave Mangaluru Central at 06.45 hrs on July 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, and 31, will be short-terminated at Tiruchchirappalli. The train will be partially cancelled between Tiruchchirappalli and Chennai Egmore.
14. Train No. 16159 Chennai Egmore – Mangaluru Central Express, scheduled to leave Chennai Egmore at 23.15 hrs on July 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, and 31, will originate from Tiruchchirappalli. The train will be partially cancelled between Chennai Egmore and Tiruchchirappalli.
15. Train No. 22841 Santragachi Jn. – Tambaram Antyodaya Express, scheduled to leave Santragachi at 18.00 hrs on July 22 and 29, will be short-terminated at Chennai Beach. The train will be partially cancelled between Chennai Beach and Tambaram.
16. Train No. 22842 Tambaram – Santragachi Antyodaya Express, scheduled to leave Tambaram at 07.15 hrs on July 24 and 31, will originate from Chennai Egmore at 08.00 hrs instead of Tambaram.
17. Train No. 15930 New Tinsukia – Tambaram Weekly Express, scheduled to leave at 06.30 hrs on July 22 and 29, will be short-terminated at Chennai Egmore. The train will be partially cancelled between Chennai Egmore and Tambaram.
18. Train No. 15630 Silghat Town – Tambaram Nagaon Express, scheduled to leave Silghat Town at 10.50 hrs on July 26, will be short-terminated at Chennai Egmore and will be partially cancelled between Chennai Egmore and Tambaram.
19. Train No. 15629 Tambaram – Silghat Town Nagaon Express, scheduled to leave Tambaram at 18.35 hrs on July 29, will originate from Chennai Egmore at 19.15 hrs instead of Tambaram.
Due to the Tambaram Yard Remodelling Work, some trains passing through Tambaram during the Line Block period (from July 23, until the completion of the yard remodelling work) are likely to get delayed or regulated.
