"The incident in Aluva is unfortunate, these types of things shouldn't repeat; it is our duty to prevent crime. Our state is a model in the country when it comes to maintaining law and order. There is no threat to the people living in Kerala. This is an isolated incident. The Opposition trying to tarnish the government’s image," the Chief Minister said. VD Satheeshan, leader of the Opposition the assembly alleged that due to the "deteriorated" law and order in the state, people are sacred.
"People are scared to go out alone, drug mafia and gangsters are lurking in the state in broad daylight and our government is doing nothing. Now, they are saying the Aluva incident is an isolated issue,” Satheeshan alleged. The Opposition staged a walkout protesting against the state government over several issues.
