CHENNAI: Day 2 of Mega Auction was a delight for fast bowlers. The top 5 maxmimum spent picks were spent on the pacers. Starting with Bhuvneshwar Kumar who was sold to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for Rs 10.75 crore, the biggest buy of the day. Deepak Chahar, former Chennai player, was bought by their arch-rivals Mumbai Indians (MI) for Rs 9.25 crore. Other big fast bowler buys has been Akash Deep for Rs 8 crore to Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Tushar Deshpande for Rs 6.50 crore to Rajasthan Royals (RR).
History was also made with 13-year-old, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, becoming the youngest ever player to be sold at an IPL Auction. He was bought by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 1.1 crore.
Meanwhile, Mumbai also made an absolute steal by buying another CSK player Mitchell Santner at the base price of Rs 2 crore.
In addition to this, South Africa all-rounder Marco Jansen has been the most expensive buy so far for Punjab Kings at Rs 7 crore.
The RCB also went hard for Krunal Pandya and brought him for 5.75 crore. Sam Curran on the other hand returned to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for 2.40 crore.
Big names including Shardul Thakur, Kane Williamson, Prithvi Shaw has gone unsold in the IPL 2025 Mega Auction.
