Madhya Pradesh crowned Champions

CHENNAI: The prestigious Buchi Babu tournament came to a close on Monday, with Madhya Pradesh standing tall and claiming the championship.
Madhya Pradesh registered 172 runs, with Shivank Vashisht of Delhi picking up a five-wicket haul. Delhi had to chase a target of 342 runs in a minimum of 65 overs. Delhi scored 91 runs on the board, and therefore Madhya Pradesh were declared champions.
Shivank Vashisht picked up the award for player of the match, and for his heroics throughout the tournament, Sumit Kushwah of MPCA bagged the award for player of the tournament. P Ramesh (former Ranji cricketer and great grandson of Buchi Babu Naidu) presented the awards, and also present at the ceremony were R I Palani, Hony. Secretary, TNCA; S Goudhaman, Hony. Secretary, Coimbatore DCA; and S Srinivason, apex council member, TNCA.
