HIGHLIGHTS | Mysuru-Darbhanga Bagmati Express rams into stationary goods train near Chennai; all passengers rescued
Tiruvallur Collector T Prabhushankar said that about 19 passengers were injured in the collision on Friday night
CHENNAI: Passengers on board Mysuru - Darbhanga Express (train no 12578) had a close shave on Friday night after the train rammed into a stationary goods train on the loop line at Kavarapettai station near Tiruvallur.
A higher official said 19 persons were injured of whom 3 sustained severe wounds and were admitted to Stanley GH.
Dilip Kumar, Executive Director, Information and Publicity of the Railway Board, said in a video message that passengers were being moved by EMU trains to Chennai Central railway station, and that a fresh train has been readied at Chennai to take them further to Darbhanga/other destinations.
