CHENNAI: DMK organizing secretary RS Bharathi on Tuesday shot back at Telangana governor Tamilisai Soundararajan and advised her to level constructive criticism at the state government after learning contemporary Tamil Nadu politics.

Responding to Tamilisai's criticism that Tamil Nadu chief minister M K Stalin did not find time to pay tribute to poet Bharathiyar recently, Bharathi said that as soon as she returns to Tamil Nadu, the Telangana governor must read the back volumes of newspapers before finding fault with the Tamil Nadu government.

"If she does not read them, she, being the governor of two states, must at least consult her officers to learn the latest developments in Tamil Nadu politics and level constructive criticism at the Tamil Nadu Government."

Taking exception to her query that Stalin had time to shake hands with US President Joe Biden but not pay tribute to Bharathiyar, the DMK organizing secretary reminded her that Chief Minister Stalin shook hands with Biden in the much-publicized G20 dinner hosted by the BJP led union government.

Stating that on the said day, the death anniversary of Bharathiyar, two ministers of the state and also the CM had paid tributes to the poet, Bharathi listed out the various honours done by the DMK regime to the revolutionary poet and asked the Telangana governor not to insult the DMK regime to express her interest in contesting the ensuing Lok Sabha election to the high command (of BJP) and prove her relevance in Tamil Nadu politics.

"Is she 'angry' over not being invited for the G20 dinner in her capacity as Governor or the kind of publicity blitz (the union government) engaged in for the summit? She has dragged the TN CM and Bharathiyar into it, " DMK organizing secretary said.
