Empty announcements heard once again, slams Annamalai
“Tamil Nadu government has been making these empty announcements since the last three years,” he said.
CHENNAI: Criticising the ruling DMK government, State BJP president K Annamalai on Monday said the Tamil Nadu government has made the same empty announcements, which it has been making for the last three years, in this year’s Budget as well.
“DMK has once again deceived the people by announcing the same empty Budget announcements in the last three years, in this year’s Budget as well. Announcements such as river rehabilitation and new buses have become mere decorative words in the Budget, but none of these have been implemented in the last three years,” Annamalai said in a social media post.
Accusing the DMK government of renaming the Union government’s schemes and claiming credits, the saffron party leader said, “While the DMK is no stranger to lending its name to welfare schemes of the Union government, the schemes currently announced in the Budget are mostly Union government schemes.”
“The question arises as to what are the welfare schemes brought by the DMK government. Does the DMK think that it is enough to change the name of the Centre’s schemes,” questioned Annamalai.
He further slammed the Stalin government for naming the schemes after late DMK leader M Karunanidhi. “The Budget 2024 has left the public in awe, who were hoping that it would implement schemes for the welfare of the people,” he noted.
Meanwhile, Annamalai on Monday informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would visit Palladam in Tiruppur district to participate in the grand finale of ‘En Mann En Makkal’ yatra. In a two-day visit to Tamil Nadu, Narendra Modi will take part in various events on February 27 and 28.
