Importance of film education in movie making

Film education is must for all technical fields in cinema like cinematography, editing, sound engineering, VFX etc. as without it none can learn the craft. For direction, one can either join as an assistant to a director and learn the ropes in a few years’ time or straightaway become a director after learning filmmaking on his own.

However, today most professionals enter film industry after learning thoroughly from a film institute. It is the best route to make an early mark. Many filmmakers like Aabhavanan, R.K. Even for an acting career, studying in a film institute is the best route.

At a recent event, Superstar Rajinikanth proudly stated, “I am from a film institute. Opportunities to interact with industry veterans, new talents and establish contact: Studying in a good film institute increases  one’s opportunity to interact with veterans as well as new talents, which brings in right contact. Getting a breakthrough in the film industry depends on having the right contacts, which a good film institute ensures and helps  an individual to grow in his  career faster.

Right atmosphere and like-minded people: A film institute is all about offering the right atmosphere of learning and like-minded, passionate people in all departments. It enhances bonding with fellow students, fosters creativity and establishes life-long relationships.

Practical exposure: The best film institutes offer practical training and exposure to all crafts, which is a must for a student to emerge knowledgeable and talented in the film industry.

Instant recognition and pride: A good film institute must ensure instant recognition from the industry  for the student, which will make him proud about studying there.

Career guidance and mentoring: A responsible film institute not merely educates, but also offers career guidance, support and mentors to develop a student’s career.

A film institute plays a vital role in training young talents and groom them to achieve through right opportunities. Director Karthik Subbaraj said in an interview, “I would reconsider my decision of studying engineering.
