Dhoni is a true leader, says Mohit
Having played most of his cricket under MS Dhoni, pacer Mohit Sharma said the revered former India captain is a true leader who does not back off when it comes to taking responsibility in challenging times.
New Delhi
The 31-year-old has played under Dhoni both at Chennai Super Kings and the Indian team. He was to represent Delhi Capitals this season, but the lockdown has postponed the Indian Premier League (IPL) indefinitely.
“His humility and sense of gratitude set him apart from other players I have played with. In sport, there is a difference between a captain and a leader. I believe he is a true leader,” Mohit said during an Instagram session organised by the Delhi franchise.
“When the team wins, you will never find him anywhere prominently. But when the team loses, he is always right in front, taking responsibility. That is the sign of a leader and why I admire him so much.” Mohit, whose return to action after a back surgery has been delayed due to the coronavirus forced lockdown, felt Delhi would be a strong contender for the title whenever the league is played.
Vijay Shankar used to look up to Dravid while growing up
India all-rounder Vijay Shankar revealed he used to look up to Rahul Dravid while growing up.
Vijay Shankar was doing an Instagram Live session with Australia opener David Warner on the official handle of Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad.
“I looked up to Dravid growing up. I became a big fan of him after the Adelaide Test in 2003. That was an amazing knock,” said Vijay Shankar.
