    First net session for RCB’s Kohli in five months

    Virat Kohli hit the nets for the first time in five months here and so did Rohit Sharma as well as a few other big names on Friday, beginning their preparations in earnest for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

    Dubai

    Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), captained by Kohli, Rohit’s Mumbai Indians (MI) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) had their first net sessions on Friday. And, Shreyas Iyer-led Delhi Capitals (DC) hit the ground running on Saturday. Delhi and Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Indian players and support staff arrived in UAE on August 23, following Bangalore, Mumbai, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rajasthan.

    The teams assembled for their first training session after seven days of quarantine. Despite coming off a long break, Kohli had a good hit in the nets, which was also attended by South African Dale Steyn and RCB team director Mike Hesson, among others.Hesson was seen interacting with both Kohli and Steyn.

    “Been 5 months since the last time I stepped onto the field. Felt like 6 days when I got into the nets. Great first session with the boys,” tweeted Kohli. In Abu Dhabi, Rohit led his team into the ground. His pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah ran in to bowl some quick deliveries. Royals had its net session at the ICC Academy in Dubai.
